Habit: Narrow upright shrub to 2m.
Foliage: Lance-like to narrow elliptic leaves, densly scaled below, distinctly tinged purple when young and bullate on upper surface.
Flowers: 3-7 per umbel, funnel shaped with large often reflexed lobes, purple pink in bud opening white with purple pink flush on outside, gradually fading. Yellow in throat. Strongly and sweetly fragrant.
Cultivation information: Needs frequent pruning to keep compact.
Further information: Ludlow and Sherriff form has smaller rose tinted flowers than straight R. lindleyi, the leaves are shorter and narrower and often purple veined or tinged when developing. The flower buds are distictly round and often tinged purple.
