Comments: Habit: Creeping plant which fans out over ground and rocks.
Foliage: Oblong-elliptic leaves of dark green with a deep purplish-red underside covered with short-stalked glands.
Flowers: Scarlet flowers appear in clusters of 1-2 on terminal buds. Does not flower freely at Pukeiti.
Cultivation information: An alpine species happier in less humid conditions with a colder winter.
