Rhododendron 'Dainty Lass'

Family: Ericaceae (Heath)
Life form: Shrub - evergreen
Comments: Habit: A dense mounded plant, slow growing but eventually 2m x 3m.
Foliage: Dark green foliage with light tan hair layer early.
Flowers: Dense umbels of 14 funnel shaped, white flowers, from purple pink buds, with green flare in throat. Slight scent. Very floriferous in November.
Cultivation information: Does better with light shade as flowers are inclined to go brown in hot sun.
Further information: Available from New Zealand rhododendron nurseries.
History: Hybridised by Mollie Coker and grown on by David Sumpter, Dunedin. Named by him and introduced through Blue Mountain Nurseries, Tapanui, New Zealand.
Additional information: Readily available in New Zealand.
