Comments: Habit: Large spreading shrub with thick branching.
Foliage: Leaves ovate, dark green, slight margin undulations and apical twist, 200 x 80mm.
Flowers: Open funnels, 16 per umbel, 5 wavy edged lobes, red buds open white with red edges to lobes and two rows of red spots on dorsal lobe. Flowers very large, up to 125mm across. Mid-late November flowering.
History: Crossed by Halfdan Lem, Seattle, Washington, USA. many seedlings distributed before flowering, including this one
Additional notes: Readily available in New Zealand.
