Foliage: Green broadly oblanceolate to obovate leaves with a prominent reddish purple midrib.
Flowers: Fragrant flowers of white with a hint of pale lilac in loose, often pendulous trusses of 5 - 12.
Additional notes: A late flowering species, appearing one month after ssp. fortunei.
