Distribution: China (Yunnan); Vietnam (north); Laos

Comments: Habit: Forms a shrub or small tree to 3m.
Foliage: Oblong-obovate, oblong-elliptic or oblong- oval leaves 8-16cm long x 4-7cm broad. The upper surface is a matt olive-green, with a waxy coating that beocmes glossy when rubbed or heated.
Flowers: White with a pink flush and red eye.
Note: R. serotinum was removed as a seperate species within the Fortunea subsection but since 1997 has been reinstated after recent collections, particularly in South Yunnan and N. Vietnam. Close to R. decorum.
