Comments: Habit: A slender, upright shrub with dense, dark brown star-shaped scales.
Foliage: 3-4 elliptic or mostly obovate-elliptic leaves arranged in pseudowhorls arounds the stem, 4-10cm long by 2.5-5.5cm wide. Dark green with a dense, dark reddish-brown covering of scales on both surfaces.
Flowers: A truss of 3-7 rich pink tubular flowers hanging from terminal buds. The outside of the corolla is scaled.
