Rhododendron 'Simbu Sunset' (Vireya)

Life form: Shrub - evergreen
Comments: Habit: Upright bushy vigorous shrub to 3m.

Foliage: Glossy broad elliptic leaves, dark green, scaly below.

Flowers: Umbels of 4-8, funnel shaped, reddish orange with yellow tube and throat, darkening on outside with age. Pedicels and new stems red. Repeat flowering.

History: R. laetum X R. zoelleri. Crossed by Tom Lelliott, Australia and raised by Ewen Perrott, NZ. Named by Graham Smith in 1984.
