Family: Ericaceae (Heath)
Comments: Habit: A dwarf creeping shrub to 30cm x 1m.
Foliage: Dark glossy green, narrow elliptic leaves, red hairs and brown scales below. Leaves are 3 x 1cm and redden in winter.
Flowers: Singly but profusely, red with pinkish tones, darker dorsal spots. Flowers in mid-summer (January at Pukeiti).
History: Polly Hill 'nakaharae hybrid' from USA.
