Rhododendron 'Ann Carey'

Family: Ericaceae (Heath)
Comments: Habit: Upright bushy shrub to 2m x 1.8m.
Foliage: Narrow elliptic foliage, recurved edges, slightly bullate and reddish when young.
Flowers: Broad funnel shaped flowers in tight small umbels. Buds red opening to light yellow flowers then changing to pink. Stamens protrude and can be petaloid. August-September flowering at Pukeiti. Provides good nectar for birds.
History: Cross by Halfdan Lem, Seattle, 1951.
Not readily available in New Zealand
