Rhododendron 'Frosted Ice'

Life form: Shrub - evergreen
Comments: Habit: Compact shrub to 1.2m.

Foliage: Small elliptic dark green leaves. Thin tan hairy layer when new.

Flowers: Neat umbels of pure white flowers, open funnel shape, few red spots in dorsal throat. Flowers tend to be upright on long pedicels. October- November flowering. Very floriferous.

History: Seed collected from R. yakushimanum 'Koichiro Wada', open pollinated, and this clearly a cross with a nearby R. aberconwayi. A sister seedling to R. 'Coconut Ice' but slightly more compact in habit. Registered by Graham Smith.
