Comments: Habit: Compact medium shrub to 2.5m x 3m.
Foliage: Leaves elliptic, rich green with brown scales below, 100 x 45mm.
Flowers: 5-7 open funnels, crimson in bud opening paler with blush white lobes and crimson throat. Scented. Flowers Oct-Nov at Pukeiti.
History: Cross by Felix Jury to try to obtain a red maddenia.
Reaadily available at select rhododendron nurseries in New Zealand.
