Comments: Habit: Forms a compact shrub to 1.5m with densely scaled branchlets.
Foliage: Small oblong-lanceolate leaves, 1-4cm long by 0.4-1.7cm broad. Pale greyish - green upper surface which is densely scaled. The underside is also densely scaled.
Flowers: Small lilac-blue flowers appear in dense clusters from September - October.
Cultivation notes: Is slightly more tolerant of damp conditions than most rhododendron species, and just as happy in an alpine bed.
